We also visited the Akarenga Red Brick Warehouse by the Yokohama port. After releasing the boys and all their boundless energy through a good run by the Harbour, some boat sighting and taking in the lovely view of the Bay Bridge, we proceeded to the iconic historical brick building that is now used as a complex that includes a shopping mall, food hall, and event venue for art exhibitions, film festivals, musical competitions and plays.
The shopping building had lots of interesting stuff to look at... ranging from clothing, accessories, art stuff, kids toys, unique home decorative items, etc etc. I was pleasantly surprised to find some really good bargains going for a mere 400+yen (around S$5!) too.
While we were there, they had a remote control race car competition going on. So the boys were kept well entertained with the many leaps and crashes of the cars!
After all these, we made sure to head over to their Food Hall to pig out before leaving! I super loved their Caramelized Brown Sugar Butter Crepe... was so busy devouring it I didn’t manage to take a photo! It was a pity we didn’t have more time nor more stomachs to try all the yummy offerings there... haha!
Overall, Yokohama is a really nice place to chill and spend quality time with the family! I heard there’s much more to explore nearby like Cosmo World Amusement Park, Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, Ramen Museum, Landmark Tower etc... Looks like we need another trip soon just to explore all these! Hehe..
